Happy April Fools!

Morning All!

First off, don't forget to watch out for the many eurovision-based websites who will come up with a load of old bollocks for most of today. In fact judging by the past three years, you may as well forget reading the main headlines...

In euronews, Karolina has released images of her new (english version) video. Looks pretty good to me. esctoday.com think it looks a bit sharon stone in basic instinct combined with a smidgin of flashdance. Personally I don't know about Flashdance, it always reminds me of that totally overrated song 'what a feeling', whereas I'd much prefer to remember Basic Instinct and a young looking Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas. Sharon Stone hasnt seemed to age since that film was made....I wonder how she keeps her youthful looks?!?!?

Helena Paparizou has won the Singer of the Year Award in Greece. Since 2005, Helena hasn't been seen in the UK, and the amount of Eurovision entries or even winners who havent made it in the UK is still quite shocking. When the UK chose Scooch to represent us recently, a friend of mine from Germany stated 'the UK is the only country not to take Eurovision seriously'; he's absolutely right you know! But having said that, maybe if we had more eurovision songs, or singers in the UK music scene we might start to actually understand and accept it more. Yeh, like thats ever going to happen!

You can send in your Karaoke efforts to eurovision.tv. They will put your video up on their website for all to see. Oh the shame! The shame!!! Straighteurovision has done one, and was considering putting it on here for all of our readers, but frankly, its far too embarrasing. If I get enough requests in our comments box, I may, I say may, consider it! At present eurovision.tv only seems to have 3 videos; I was wondering whether thats because only 3 people have big enough balls, or whether eurovision.tv have already lost interest?!?!?

Talking above of eurovision/national final artists in the UK music scene, I had a brief look at the current Swedish charts; as you do!?!? Here is the the first 10 or so positions regarding MF/eurovision entries as of 30/03/2007:

1. The Ark - The Worrying Kind
2. Cara Mia - Mans Zamerlow
3. Amanda - Jimmy Jansen - ?!?!?!?!?!! Yeh, I know
5. A Little Bit Of Love - Andreas Johnson
6. Live Forever - Magnus Carlsson
7. Trying To Recall - Marie Lindberg
8. For Alt Du Finns - Sonja Alden
9. When The Night Comes Calling - Sebastien
10. Vasta Schlagern - Marcoolio & Linda Bengtzing - Some of you will know this was entered to MF but never made it...
11. I remember love - Sarah Dawn Finer
12. Tror Pa Dig - Caroline Af Ugglas

The list goes on...Ridiculous isnt it. Why can't the UK do that...

In the UK, Scooch are re-releasing their 'hit' album 'For Sure'. You can pre-order it on HMV.co.uk, and its very reasonably priced at £4.99. They also confirm 'Flying the flag' will be released on 30/04/2007, just a week or so before Eurovision. Ideally, it should been two/three weeks before, and this will do nothing to promote the run up to the contest...

According to http://www.escnation.com/poll/, the top 5 for eurovision this year will be:

1. Serbia
2. Cyprus
3. Greece
4. Belarus
5. Turkey

Hmmmm....Ive clearly missed something about Serbia. Well, most of their top 5 really. I'll have to go add my own madness to the mix...

Escnation.com have cleverly put together a who's who of all the eurovision entries, with information about singer, song and country for your viewing pleasure. There is some interesting stuff in there too. http://www.escnation.com/index.html?section=7

Arsenal got whooped yesterday by Liverpool, so I expect a nice message from Nicki again.

Right, the sun is out, ive got leftover indian takeaway to polish off this morning. I might have an interview for you later...
